Molly and Chloe

So my parents decided that they needed something to do since I no longer live here, so they decided to take on 2 Dalmatian puppies. Their names are Molly, the trouble maker and Chloe, who loves to snuggle. They have a lot of energy and love to play and then take their naps. Both of my parents have commented on how it is like having 2 babies to take care of. And then Thursday night Hayden and Donovan came over and they realized that it was exactly like having kids again. Well they will keep my parents busy for quite some time now. They are very cute and love to play. Looks like I will be coming home a lot more now!! We will see about Quip and Daisy they may have to wait to meet Molly and Chloe for a while.

Needles Higway

We drove through the Needles Highway which was just a very curvy road through the mountains. It was very cool to drive on. We drove through many tunnels that were made from the rock and it was definitely a tight squeeze!!!

Mount Rushmore Cont.

Well we had so many pictures of Mt. Rushmore I decided that it would get 2 posts.

Mount Rushmore, SD

We loved Mt. Rushmore and for us that was the highlight of our trip!!! We all loved being there and seeing the statues. It was so much better than the Crazy Horse sculpture. We ended up going there twice while we were in South Dakota.

Crazy Horse

What it will look like when it is done.

What it looks like so far after about 55+ years of work.

We went to Crazy Horse Memorial. It was kind of neat to see it being built but it is a very slow process. It has not changed much in the past 5-6 years. The only thing they have completed is the head and face. This was done for the 50th anniversary which was about 5 years ago. We were there for the laser light show at night which was also neat to see. I think it will be cool to see it when it is done but I don't think it will be done in my life time, but who knows things may change.

Jewel Cave

Our next outing was Jewel cave. It was really cool to go down there. We were about 2,000 feet below sea level. It was a 1/2 mile hike that took almost 1 1/2 hours. There was a warning at first that if you didn't like small areas or heights that maybe this was not for you but we decided that it couldn't be to bad so we did it. Once we got down there we decided that they were right there were definitely lots of stairs and my mom and I did not do so well with them. It was a lot of fun and I am glad that we did it.

Bear Country USA, Rapid City, SD

We went to a place where we could see a bunch of different animals. We saw lots of bears and some buffalo!! This was the first time that my mom and I got to see our Buffalo.
